Fr. William Maclean
Hailing from Roshven, in between Fort William and Mallaig, I was ordained in July 2003, the first priest to be ordained in Arisaig since records began. (Hopefully not the last!) After spending a year in Oban, I was sent off to Salamanca to do a specialisation in Biblical theology, before being appointed Parish Priest of St Margarets in July 2006. A keen cyclist, I am often out on Mid Argyll's roads in my spare time, so if you're driving look out for a red bike with red tyres, because if you run me over you won't get Mass for a few weeks! My musical taste is mostly rock and indie music from the nineties, with a scattering of other stuff from clasical to church music thrown in. When the ipod is on shuffle mode I never know what kind of thing I will get next. Last, and by no means least, special mention has to go to Freya, the Norwegian Forest Cat, who is the boss in all but name, and adds a touch of glamour (and fluff) to the house. A new hoover even had to be bought! Fittingly, Freya features on the home page!
Mass in Inveraray, 29th November 2009. Thanks to Kenny Stark for the photo. |
