23rd Sunday of Year A - 4 September 2011

Feasts of the week are now placed in the Calendar.

The Baptism of Monica Therese Grant.

With great joy last Saturday on the feast of St Monica we welcomed into the community Monica Therese.   To her parents, godparents, grandparents and friends we offer our good wishes and prayers.

Diocesan Meetings

I have to be in Oban for diocesan meetings on Wednesday & Thursday.   Therefore there will be no mass on either of those days.   There will be Communion Services as usual.

Coffee Morning

There will be a coffee morning on Saturday 10 September from 10 until 12 in the parish church hall.   Please give this event your support.    Thanks in advance, Fr David.

Harvest Supper

There will be a Harvest Supper on Sunday 4 September at 7.00pm in the REd Cross Hall.  All are welcome, home baking would be much appreciated.

New Altar servers

It has been suggested that we ask any young people who have made their First Communion and are interested in serving on the altar approach Fr David as we are hopeful to get a good enough response to start a rota at 10.00am Mass on a Sunday.    To serve at God's altar will require training, possibly for a short time after Mass on a Sunday.   We are also looking into getting new robes for all the servers.

Childrens Liturgy Meeting.

There will be a meeting for all those involved in the running of the Childrens Liturgy after 10.00am Mass on Sunday 18 September.   All those involved are most welcome to come along.

Work Party for tidying up grounds.

It has been proposed by the parish council that we will have a day of tidying up the grounds with regards to the hedges, the garage and some painting, on Saturday 17 September, starting at 10.00am.   Those wishing to be involved please give your name to me after Mass.    Thanks Fr David.
